9. Baseball. Why?
No clock to run out. You actually have to earn the last out.

While the dimensions of the diamond are the same, the outfield dimensions in each baseball park are different. No other team sport has such a variance in its playing field.

Until recently, no interleague play, and to the extent it does exist now, it's rather limited. It makes the World Series more special.

The head coach is called the manager and wears the same uniform as his players.

The possibility that any pitch may end up a homerun, and the excitement and grace of the homerun when it does occur.

The no hitter. There's no better measure of perfection than in any other team sport.

It's a summer sport meant for warm weather.

11. exactly, it's the only sport where EVERY. SINGLE. PLAY. can decide the game
Every pitch can involve ANY of the players on the field and have an impact on the game itself. There are no meaningless 2 yard runs or countless passes or whatnot. EVERY play is important.

12. Golf
Fascinating battle between skill, choice of weapon and strategy with it, your tendencies of the given day, and inner demons.

Someone mentioned baseball dimensions can vary. Golf courses and conditions differ wildly, and within the same tournament. Last week Brittany Lincicome won the women's major despite battling by far the worst of the draw, playing through 40+ MPH winds on Friday afternoon. Everyone else with that half of the draw blew themselves out of contention.

Otherwise, I love football and ignore baseball. Baseball has its unique qualities, as detailed earlier, but they don't work for me. I like physical battles like center and defensive tackle, or mental anguish like Freddie Couples' putting stroke getting shorter and more jabby the closer he comes to victory. Baseball sets itself up for too much acceptance of mediocrity and lack of intensity, by the scheduling nature of playing the same team 3 or 4 days in a row and pretending 162 games are necessary, playing virtually every day. Playoff baseball is outstanding theater, since every pitch has exponentially more meaning. But on the eve of the playoffs I have no idea who is in them.

13. I agree somewhat
Depending on the season, playoff races can last months. In 2003, the Marlins and Phillies traded punch for punch from July-September. EVERY game counted with marlins finally clinching the wild card berth the last week of the season. Greatest regular season i've ever watched.
