Don't ya love dogs that bark all day long?
I'm unemployed so I'm home all day. There are two or three neighbors who let their dogs out and they bark all friggin' day. Drives me up a wall. Good thing I don't own a handgun and I'm not a violet person.

1. Some dogs are barky. Mine can be from time to time.
I try to control it as best as I can. They like to bark at people walking down the road. Or the garbage man. Or the mailman, etc.

2. Agreed
But much better than in the middle of the night. Hate knocking on doors at 2am telling them to take care of their dogs.

20. I appreciate that.

I love your photo gallery. I spent some time browsing it this evening. :)

I'm waiting until we finally get good weather to figure how how and when I'm going to make it back to Boston for a visit. It's a beautiful city and I had a lot of fun the last time, so I'm definitely coming back.

5. I'm in the same boat
The neighbors dog doesn't bark all that much, but it barks all the time I'm outside - and it can't even see me.

Goddamn renters.

8. They'd probably mow their lawn.
I've lived in a rental for all but 6 years of my life (and I'm 40). Renters simply don't have that pride of home ownership and are less likely to get to know the neighbors.

If they owned the place they would have had to read the HOA rules and might respect us enough to not be such pigs.

Obviously, not all renters deserve such criticism.

12. I rent. We know all of our neighbors, except for that one
asshole who took a shovel to one of my dogs (that is another issue; my dogs were fighting each other and he reached over the fence and started beating them with a shovel). Other than that, we are excellent renters. We will be home owners soon hopefully. I still am not sure of what I want in a house. And I am still not sure which school district I want to live in.

All of the people beside me have dogs that bark much more than mine. Mine only bark when someone is walking by the house or pulling near the driveway.

7. Neighbors have a "correction" type collar
One of my neighbor's three dogs barks a lot. Someone (other than me) complained and the ACS people suggested they get a correction type collar.

I'm not sure what they wound up with, but the collar "whistles" every time the dog barks, and the whistle doesn't seem to deter the dog from barking.

I thought there were collars that were supposed to give off a high-pitched sound that only the dog hears...not the humans??? But that's not the case here.

So...I don't know which is worse. Listening to the dog bark. Or listening to the damn whistle!

9. If you DID own a handgun I hope you wouldn't shoot the dogs.
It isn't their fault they have idiot humans. I have six dogs & my neighbors don't mind their barking. The nearest neighbor is over a half mile down the road. Rural living is wonderful........

11. When I am at my parents house..
Edited on Wed Apr-08-09 05:49 PM by Roon
their three wiems bark at me everytime they see me the whole time I am there. And it's not just a quick bark, it's sustained barking until they calm down about a minute later. When I leave and come back in five minutes, it starts all over again.

22. I feel sorry for the dogs, actually
I think they want to be indoors with their pack. Or at least indoors in their own safe sleeping places if the owners are at work. People seem to think that dogs like "fresh air" even if it means being staked outside or penned up with nothing to do and no one to do it with. Those are not happy dogs.

24. We have a 14 year old dog that is senile
He barks a lot for no reason.

The only cure would be euthanasia

When he is not barking, he is still his old self. We'd like to keep him a little longer.

Our neighbors will just have to deal with the barking.

When there is no more barking, we will be very sad
