Please make Twilight go away.
I can't tell you how ridiculous I find it that in my office at least 8 grown women have turned their cubicles into Twilight shrines.

And I swear one day I am going to put a picture of Liberace in full regalia beneath a bumper sticker on the wall in one of those cubicles that reads "Real Men Sparkle".

1. Are you fucking kidding? Don't tell me you don't worship
at the alter of all that is Carlisle Cullen? He is one hot MoFo baby. The others, not so much because they're children, but Carlisle? Holy. Crap.

2. The books promote literacy!
Several women in my subdivision who never read anything are reading them like mad. No desire.

4. In my classroom and our building, this series has gotten more teens reading
than even the Bluford series

It is not that bad, I read the books and liked them

Much better than Harry Potter!!!!!!!!!

5. Seriously? I thought the books were terrible. The movie,
however, was full of the amazing hotness that is Carlisle Cullen. (Peter Facinelli)

8. A heaping helping of hot guy does tend to counter a variety of things.
I have such a crush on Christian Bale he could co-star in Gigli and I'd watch.

6. My sister thought the book sucked.
She has yet to see the movie. I have no interest in the book or the movie.

7. Honestly, the movie grows on you. When I took BabyM
the only thing about it I liked was the vampire fight scene. The books are really poorly written a la VC Andrews and Flowers in the Attic, which started out very promising, and ended up as tripe.

18. Ditto.
Q3JR4
Mumbles incoherently about the popularity of stupid books among vapid people who would be otherwise illiterate by choice.

11. Eww. That would be tacky even without Twilight.
Somehow I think Twilight is a godsend to the people sitting on massive warehouse of tchotchkes they had no idea of how to unload.

Slap a Twilight label on those babies and the next thing you know, someone at the office is showing off her latest Twilight bling.

15. No shit
I (very) mistakenly watched the movie. Worst. Vampire. Movie. Ever. Painfully horrid.

I'm not into vampire anything. If I want a Vampire series I'll read Tayna Huff, who at least can churn out halfway decent fantasy and a little Sci-fi. Or I'll just go back and read Bram Stoker, haven't read Dracula in about 20 years.

17. Amen
back in my day, vampires didn't whine at teenagers; they drank blood, kicked ass, and took names.
