Are you a twit if you don't want to Twitter?
By ASSOCIATED PRESS
April 09, 2009

CHICAGO - Eily Toyama gave in after friends pestered her to join Facebook. But she used her cat's name instead of her own so she could avoid networking requests from people she didn't really want to connect to.

And don't even ask her about Twitter unless you want to get an eye roll.

"I just don't think people need to know that much about my life," says the 32-year-old Chicagoan, who works in information technology.

Call it online sociability fatigue. And it's not just being felt by older folks who have lived most of their lives without the Web. As social networking grows, from stream-of-consciousness Twitter to buttoned-up LinkedIn, even some of the very young people who've helped drive these sites' growth could use a break.

3. I have a Twitter page, but I never update it.
I use it to keep up with when the next personal attack on me by C-Lo will happen. Like right now, she's oversease and Jason is making sure she cannot Google herself, which means her blog and her Myspace will be used to slander the hell out of me this weekend. I wish I knew several lawyers.

Other than that, I stay the fuck away from that trendy-fuck nonsense. I hate trendy, snobby, arrogant people.

5. Well, I try not to be snobby and arrogant. As for trendy...
... I'm late to the twitter game.

When John McCain starts doing something before I do, I can hardly be on the cutting edge of a trend.

6. Well, I'm surprised it is not officially UNCOOL now that
John McCain has done it. :P

Still, I'm pissed off at certain people about using it the way they are using it, not all. Paula Poundstone, one of my most favorite comedians ever is using it. She's also the only one following me. I rarely use it though. I just don't like to share than I'm microwaving some BBQ to make a sandwich. My life is not that interesting at all. :P

7. I'm following Paula Poundstone, too! I'd be happy to follow you.
I don't use it to detail my life.

I've been using it as a news aggregator, and then re-posting news for other people, mostly linking back to DU.

8. Now, THAT is a smart use of it.
I keep up with Mount Redoubt and Paula Poundstone there. I am in awe of both. :D

Check your PM. :D
