3. I have that same long weekend

Here in Germany, both Friday and Monday are holidays, so it's a 4 day weekend. I
did have some work that I was supposed to attend to in France today, but since it
is also my wedding anniversary (27th), I asked my guy in Geneva if he would run up
to Paris and take care of it for me. He grumbled, as it is a holiday in Switzerland,
too, but when he was out of commission for 4 weeks due to a detached retina and some
complications last month, I ran down to Paris something like 4 times, and did all HIS
stuff in addition to my own. I told him he owed me one, and he agreed that indeed he
did. The Swiss can be so reasonable, sometimes!

Sunshine in the Rheinland!!! That's like a drought in Seattle. We don't see it too often.
But even if it were the usual rain and grey skies, today is OUR day (see my OP on the 27
years--NO kind of nasty weather can take that away).

But you're right about Europe. There are things I miss about parts of living permanently
in the States, but if I ever got transferred back there, I'd miss it here terribly. A
