i just wanted to share, that lisa got me a brand new engagement ring!

The ring I had initially was just a place holder, I asked her to marry me and we just got a ring for me, so that i would have one. After which it took me a long tome to decide what type of ring i would want to wear for the rest of my like (non-diamond but recognizable as an engagement ring, no child killed for my sparklies, silver or gold etc )

So yesterday i got a beautiful Moissanite ring!

Thanks to sallymander for introducing us to moissanites and the right websites!

Funny moissanite story for you -- Iza and I were in a jewelry store recently, and the jeweler asked to take a closer look at my ring. He was looking really impressed about the clarity, sparkle, etc. Finally I told him it was moissanite, at which point he flipped out and got really angry! He said that moissanite was a "hoax" and basically implied that I should be ashamed that I would perpetuate something that could compete with a "real" diamond. Hahaha... he even said "if that ever falls out of your ring, or you get tired of it, you should destroy it! Otherwise someone will get duped and think it's a diamond, because no one can really tell the difference!" I was like "uhh... OK crazy man. We're going to leave now..." I know it makes sense for a jeweler to have a big stake in everyone buying into the diamond invention -- but this guy was bonkers!

The jewelers are scared to death of moissanite b/c they can't tell it's not a diamond by testing it.

Diamonds are NOT worth what people pay for them, due to the DeBeer cartel controlling prices and the advertising they do.

Note:I have 2 GIA Certificates, in Diamond Grading and Colored Stone Grading. :D
