What are YOU doing this evening, DU?
For the first time ever in my life, I have the entire house to myself (my parents' house, that is).

Mom and Dad in the hospital, which is nothing new, Brother out for the night and probably not coming back til tomorrow.

It's me, the dog, 3 cats, and 2 geckoes.

I'm watching House on DVD, having a couple cocktails, and getting ready to knit.

How about you? :hi:

1. My husband just left to go church...
he didn't even ask me if I wanted to go... I'm hacking like my grandmother used to after smoking a pack or two.

Hope you have a nice, peaceful evening... sounds like you will.

3. Aw, would you have wanted to go?
I'm sorry you're coughing.

And thank you. :)

Hopefully the peeper frogs won't keep me up all night. We live next to a swamp, which we also own. It's kinda neat.

4. Making dinner for Mrs. Aristus.
Skirt steak marinated in a garlic and olive oil sauce, pan-seared, then simmered in sherry and herbs. A side of spaghetti in a tomato and basil sauce, and steamed asparagus.

Sliced fresh honeydew melon for dessert. :9

Me, it's either mac and cheese or frozen pizza. The kitchen here is in no shape to cook in, until I get it cleaned up A LOT.

42. It was decent enough
however the place fucking stank from one of those dishes where your shit comes out on the really hot plate and keeps cooking. I swear it smelled like cat piss in there.

On a lighter note, I'm psyched that it's going to rain all night

I hope it doesn't rain all day tomorrow. I want to garden.

16. Quiet evening at home because we have a busy weekend ahead tourguiding.
Relatives are here (at my MIL and FIL's house) from Thailand. We are taking them to Universal Studios tomorrow and Dizzyland on Sunday.

My MIL assures us that they speak English or it is going to be a rather interesting weekend. M and I speak no Thai.

39. The older I get, the more minimalism appeals to me.
I think it's an outgrowth of having kids and reeling under the avalanche of stuff they bring. It's a constant battle -- weeding out their outgrown stuff, deciding what to donate, what to pass along to friends, what we might be able to get a little $$ for on Craigslist, etc., etc., etc. Not to mention organizing photos, wading through their schoolwork, etc., etc., etc...

Sometimes I daydream about having a little place that has totally easy-clean surfaces, absolutely no clutter, and streamlined technology.
