That would be an "exit call." The Lexicon Injection Project (LIP) is conducting an experiment to see how long it takes for "exit call" and "entrance call" (when the phone rings just as you are entering your home) to work their way into everyday language. One hypothesis is that if the report found at

gets spread around to a million people in 100 hours, then those phrases will by virtue of critical mass *have* to become recognized terms. This is a very interesting idea, and I'm participating. I have forwarded the above link to over 200 contacts on my e-mail list. Just think, by this time next week, when the boss asks you why you were late, you can say, "Because I got an emergency 'exit call' just as I was walking out the door." And the boss may well know exactly what you mean.
