Lets name this High School after Stephen Colbert.
As construction workers continue to build American Canyon’s first high school, city residents of all ages are trying to come up with a name for the new school — on a deadline.

The public has until Tuesday to fill out an electronic survey to suggest a name, colors and a mascot for the new high school scheduled to open in 2010.
The school naming committee will gather the information this week and refer its top three choices to the Napa Valley Unified School District’s board of trustees next month. The board will make a final decision before June 1.

Scudero said that suggested names so far include: American Canyon High School, Obama High School, Newell High School and Mikolajcik High School. The late Jack and Bernice Newell donated land to American Canyon while John Mikolajcik, a former school trustee and longtime American Canyon resident, served two terms as Napa County supervisor in the 5th District.

The electronic survey is accessible at: http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/?p=WEB228XLKX24PC

I suggested...
Name: Stephen Colbert High School
Colors: Red, White, and Blue
Mascot: Eagle
