2. My dear Haole Girl!
Ah, I didn't get good detail of the birds...they're pelicans! One of the pics shows one of them just diving into the water...on the right.

Glad you enjoyed these!

Thanks, sweetie...

5. My dear SeattleGirl!
Yeah, that one is the best for me too...

I didn't leave enough time to get down there before sunset, and of course, all the lights were RED!

As the sunset gets later, I'll do better...

Glad you enjoyed them nonetheless, sweetie!

7. You are very fortunate.
Those of us that live in the Midwest not only have lousy weather, but these for sunset/sunrise photos.

9. My dear Mugu...
I know how lucky I am...

I am sorry that you have to deal with those stacks...

Is there ever a time when they aren't looking like that?

The skies behind them are spectacular...

Thank you for coming by tonight...

14. Peggy, sometimes it's only one stack instead of both.
When I was younger we used to water-ski downstream of the discharge because the water was so much warmer. When I was getting this photo I was so amazed at how dark it was for the folks that live under the steam cloud. You would be driving along in bright sunlight and all the sudden it would turn dark. A mile or two later it would be light again.

Regards, Mugu

Hi Peggy,
Those are great, thanks for sharing these and the ones of your house that I really really enjoyed. I'm going to send you a pm, I hope you don't mind, not sure what the proper etiquette is on this thing for that sort of thing.

Peace

Ah, you're too kind!

I was late getting there...the first pic was the ONLY one I got before the sun vanished!

But still, I thank you...

16. Oh my, that makes me miss Southern California even more...
That's the thing I miss the most since I moved to the Midwest four years ago, the ocean. My Mom grew up in Manhattan Beach as a surfer girl in the mid 60's and the ocean has always had a pull on me. There's nothing more restorative to me than the water. Thank you for these pictures on such a gloomy day.

Oh, sweetie, I'm sorry that these made you homesick...

But, OTOH, at least they helped you feel better...

I don't think your mom would recognize Manhattan Beach any more...it's really pretty gentrified now.

But it's still a friendly little beach town at heart.

Glad you enjoyed these!

Thanks for coming by...

19. No worries Ms Peggy!
I'm just homesick because my mom is having surgery today. So it's nice to see some things that remind me of her.

Thanks! :hi:
