I filed in early Feb. But mine is easy to do.

I did my taxes a long time ago. I file our federal early because it's always a refund. I hold my state until I get that refund because they usually get half of it. It works out so much better this way than sitting on them til the last minute.

I'm getting a bit of a refund because of tuition paid last year- and it is all going right back to my school to cover tuition this year. Sigh.

17. Finished taxes late February before our trip to Italy. Owed the Feds; refund from State

has still not arrived. There was an article in the local Raleigh paper the other day quoting
an NC Dept of Revenue rep saying it takes 6-12 weeks!!! for a paper filed refund; 2-4 weeks for an electronically filed refund. The rep confirmed the State is "managing" refunds. Letter to the editor
this a.m. laughed at the 2-4 weeks claim; he filed 5 weeks ago and still hasn't seen the refund. Said
it took only days for his Fed refund to hit his bank account.

I was hoping to get our big state refund to help pay what we owed the feds. No such luck.

I always save the one we have to pay for last. They'll get their money tomorrow.
