A sad day to be a sports fan
Bruce Snyder, who led Arizona State to a perfect regular season and the 1997 Rose Bowl, died Monday after a 10-month fight against cancer. He was 69.

Bruce Snyder coached three college programs but had his greatest success at Arizona State.
After leading the Sun Devils to an 11-0 regular season, Snyder earned consensus 1996 national coach of the year honors. He also was named Pac-10 coach of the year twice, once at Arizona State and in 1990 as California's head coach.

Radio and TV broadcaster Harry Kalas, whose baritone delivery and signature "Outta here!" home run calls provided the soundtrack to Philadelphia baseball for nearly four decades, died Monday after collapsing in the broadcast booth before the Phillies' game against the Washington Nationals. He was 73.

Mark "the Bird" Fidrych, the fun-loving pitcher who baffled hitters for one All-Star season and entertained fans with his antics, was found dead Monday in an apparent accident at his farm. He was 54.

Worcester County district attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. said a family friend found Fidrych about 2:30 p.m. Monday beneath a dump truck at his Northborough, Mass., farm about 35 miles west of Boston. He appeared to have been working on the truck, Early said.

RIP all.....hopefully there's a sports bar in the next life where we can all meet.
