Lots of her ancestors are buried here. Her momma is Ziggy - where I got my DU ID.

New born foals are so cute. It's hard for me this year - Ziggy did not "catch" last year and with the economy and too many horses out there, I am not breeding any mares for at least the next couple of years. Usually by this time we have a foal or two on the ground and get to watch them play and run.

I've always wondered what it would be like to live on a farm, or just a horse farm. I love horses. They are gorgeous animals.

20. New born foals remind me of spiders - all legs with little bodies

And once they figure out how to get up, they have a big problem figuring out how to get down. They'll fold up those long legs, get almost to the ground and then just drop.

Somewhere )but not online) I have a picture of one colt who got halfway down and got stuck. He didn't want to just drop, but couldn't untangle his legs to stand back up. After a couple of minutes struggling with this dilemma, he fell over and decided to make the best of it and take a nap.

By the time they are 36 hours old, they are tearing around full tilt, bucking and playing!
