1. Not me. I filed months ago.
Pocketed a nice federal tax refund.

I did, however, wait until today to mail a check to the state.

3. I always do it ASAP
On the general belief that holding money is a temptation to the fates to take it from me somehow. If I have cash, thats when I'm gonna get a toothache, a new sound in the car, or something along those lines.

4. I don't think my husband was even aware it was 4-15.
I'd help do it, but he's got pensions, deferred income, and investments all over the place, plus his late dad's stuff. I keep telling him he'd bundle altogether, I'd drop it off at our accountant's office...but alas he had ADHD. It will dawn on him sooner or later.

5. Me. Got it done this evening.
I owed them so I put it off as long as possible. Also, I'm a procrastinating idiot.

6. I'm worse than that
I filed for an extension, and I'm expecting a refund, pitifully small though it is. I've misplaced one of the documents, and need to ask for a replacement.

Just call me Space Cadet.

8. took them a few weeks
to send me mine. I took a week, because I end up doing the numbers for half my family. But I am the guy who bugs the boss to get the w-2 out as early as possible.

9. I waited until the last day because I knew I would have to pay.

because I have to pay (self-employed).

11. So what is the reason for waiting under that scenario?
Is it you are waiting to scrounge the money to pay for it, or you want to hang on to it as long as possible for the few bucks interest, or are you hoping that something will come along to change the numbers? Or is there some other reason for it that I have totally missed?

12. No reason to send them the money 'til the deadline
because I'd prefer it stay in my account rather than theirs. Even if it's only a "few bucks" interest.

13. For me it's simply procrastination
I usually work it out so I have to pay in a little, although some years I have gotten a small return. I have a folder of deductions and other tax records that grows fat by December and I have to go through it all. Fortunately I use Deduction Pro to catalog all my donations throughout the year, but it's still a pain to add everything up given all the volunteer work my wife and I do. It's also depressing to learn just how much I paid throughout the year.

14. procrastination I understand
Thats why I do it ASAP. if its not done on day one, its waiting until 5 weeks past the due date, and then I have a problem. Plus I know that my family will be bringing me theirs to do, and If I don't take care of mine, it will get drowned under the others.

15. You're a good man, Charlie Brown
Personally I can't do taxes for others. I'll help my family with their pets and kids, clean their house when they are sick, help work on their house and cars, but taxes I can't do for anyone else.
