Some of you know the backstory re: the 3 kittens
I'm currently a grandpa to.
It's a long boring story, so I won't repeat it here.

THIS one is the most timid of the three; today was the first time
she stayed visible long enough to get pictures of her.

She's getting comfortable with me, as long as I stay a few feet away,
but I think the camera noises scared her, so she decided
to growl at me to tell me it was time to "back off".

So, I backed off. I know better than to mess with
a Stone-Cold KILLAH like this one!

some difficulties with them, (My fault entirely, to be honest)

and I'm just not doing well with their interface.

via AOL.

the BRAVE one of the bunch.

She's so fluffy, she's ROUND when she sits still.
She fears NOTHING, and she poops rainbows.

13. I was the victim of harrassment when I had my first kitten. I taught her

how to growl because I was in "fight back" mode. When she went in to be fixed the vets called and said she was really intimidating because of her growling. Whenever you did anything she didn't like she'd growl. I was so proud of her. Now she doesn't growl so much when you pick her up but she still vocalizes.

She weighs about 8 ounces, and I saw her stare down a 40lb dog
two days ago. It might have been the first dog she's ever seen,
but she gave it a "look" and it BACKED AWAY SLOWLY.

20. No, the two fluffy ones already have a home waiting for them, when that time comes.

Just as soon as they're "weaned", and their Mom
starts chasing them off when they try to nurse,
they have a nice warm 2nd-floor apartment waiting for them.


The little shorthaired dark one...I think I need to keep him.
I think he just might be kinda SPECIAL.


His fur gets more orange by the day, except for his paws:
they are solid black.

But the MIDDLE FINGER on his right hand is solid orange,
and I just love that.
It's like he's been flipping the World "the Bird"
since the moment his momma squeezed him out, knowhutImean?

I think he was born to be my "special little guy"; and I'm
planning to keep him, and take him along when I get a place of my own.

25. It's ironic that the first good pics I took were pics of the SHYest kitten...

I actaually PETTED the other two today, for the first time.

They run away at the sight of me...but they run right back
when they hear me popping open a can of WET kitty food!

That pic of the 3 of them around the plate? The orange/white one
and the little grey dude let me PET them for 2 solid minutes before I
went inside and got the camera.

They were gobbling down that "lil Friskies seafood buffet",
and I was "skritching" them all up and down, from their ears
to their tails.

Their momma taught them well, I reckon.

They run away from EVERYONE and EVERYTHING.
These kittens were born in the woods; they are
just about ThisClose to being completely FERAL!

I actually PETTED 2 of them for 2 minutes yesterday, and that
was a major breakthrough!

CUDDLING is a long time away, and only gonna be possible
if I play my cards JUUST right for weeks to come.

48. UPDATE: they're still nursing their Mom, but are starting to munch on dry kibble.

And all 3 will let me pet them now, as long as they have
their noses buried in a plate of wet kitty-food...

Looks like they'll be officially WEANED any day now,
at which point the two FLUFFY ones will be sent off to live
in a luxury apartment...

The little short-haired one...he's my favorite.
I may just have to keep him, and name him "Heckubus",
