McCabe and Mrs. Miller, and Leonard Cohen
I saw the movie when first released, in the 70s, and like most Altman's movies, I left it quite confused.

It has been playing recently on cable and my spouse was curious, at first, to see how it started and then I realized that Leonard Cohen has several songs there, songs that really give the movie its haunting feeling.

1. (wind noise)
McCabe- Fool who can't get out of his own way.

Mrs. Miller- Not a fool, but foolishly let her guard down, probably for the last time.

Good movie, and beautifully filmed.

2. I saw it recently.
One of the most atmospheric movies I've ever seen.
