Which route should I take to Mrs. V.'s surgery center on Monday?

Poll question: Which route should I take to Mrs. V.'s surgery center on Monday?

Mrs. V.'s wrist was broken about a year and a half ago and it didn't heal well. Surgery is indicated, and Monday is the day.

The surgery center is in Chevy Chase, MD, about half a world away from us down in Charles County. We have to be there at 7:00 AM, and it'll take at least an hour and fifteen minutes.

There are two main routes: via the Beltway, or straight through DC.

The Beltway has no traffic lights, but traffic on it could be heavy.

Going through town will probably have less traffic, but god, I hate driving through town.

So, even though the majority of you don't know the area, I'm asking anyway. Which route should I take?

I don't know that either way is going to be particularly good at that time of day...HOWEVER I have heard that the new Wilson Bridge is doing really well with breaking up the bottle neck that used to be there so I would give a slight edge to the Beltway..In fact I just heard a new traffic survey where DC slipped from 2nd worst in the country to the 5th with credit given to the Wilson bridge.

5. I dig what the Woody Woodpecker bridge has done for traffic, but

we'll be going the opposite way round the beltway, counterclockwise from So. MD. :scared: either way we go...
