more specifically, signaling codes used within SIP networking ( SIP = session initiation protocol )

VoIP ( voice over IP ) is an overarching concept- within that there are different mechanisms used to control signaling; MGCP is another VoIP protocol for example ( media gateway control protocol )


I guess not many DU'ers work on VoIP networks :)
