I'm from western PA originally...just finally got it here in GA.

My GA-native bud asked me, "Have you tried this beer?" I just laughed.

2. Yum, I love the stuff, but I've been spoiled tonight on local brew pub
I was introduced to Yuengling when I was in training for a job up near Butler, PA (three guesses for whom). Several years later I found it in Florida and then a few months ago a local distributor started carrying it here in Georgia. Yummers

52. Wanna do something REALLY nice during the summer?
Take 1/2 really cold Yuengling and 1/2 really cold lemonade.

A shandy. And it's so damn good. Slip a slip of lemon on the glass, if you want.

We could sprawl on a front porch with these babies, watch the world go by, and, by sundown, have the whole universe in alphabetical order, don't you think?

17. I grew up near the brewery ..........
Pottsville is the county seat of Schuylkill County, and my home borough was about six miles away. We used to go there for free beer, which they'd give out after the tour. So what if we were underage? No one cared.

Yuengling is a spectacular beer. It's the water up there. Damn great water, in spite of what all the bootleg miners almost did to the supply. It's crystalline and sweet and that's what makes Yuengling so great.

We grew up on it, and, about twenty years ago, when I was living in San Francisco, I broke up one day when I found Yuengling Black and Tan in the "Gourmet Beer" section of a store. The price was hysterical, as well.

Good stuff, indeed. Best beer made in the US.

you'll find a LaBamba leading the charge, empty bottle in hand, looking for more.

You've been around, I've noticed, including seeing you getting screwed out of game tickets by the USPS. That still rankles me.

Things are good. I'm intensely bothered by the idea that the Spaniards probably will not pursue those thugs from Chimpy Fucknut's Torture Team - Yoo, Addington, et al. - but, for the most part, life is fine and all is well.

And you, sweet thing???

For some bizarre reason, I had this visual of you and me - Yuenglings surrounding us - discussing philosophy and solving all the world's problems.

Scarier still, we just may be able to achieve that. ;)

Yeah, I didn't get to go to my game. :( So I bought Yuengling, instead. It turns the frown into a smile, every damned time.

56. Even though we're "next door"
Yuengling hasn't yet been distributed in WV. Something to do with increasing production or something. They worked out an agreement to distribute in WV starting Real Soon Now (tm) and the state liquor control commission just approved everything the day before yesterday. ETA is late May, probably around Memorial Day weekend.

I can hold out. I'm going to Oregon for a week and will sate myself on microbrews in the meantime.

#3- Give Chesterfield Ale a shot...it's pretty good, and as I mentioned cheap ( around here I get a case for about $18.00 ) At that price, you would think you're getting Milwaukees Best. Oh...I haven't seen it in bottles, not to say they don't exist, but I've only seen it in cans. Yes, cans :D

#2-Congratulations on #5 and bet your looking forward to #6 ( Yuengling has a tendency to do that to you ).

#3- Really, though....you just can't tell it came out of a can if you can get past that...it's really that good! Hey, I might be wrong and maybe they have it in bottles somewhere, but I just haven't seen it. There is this bar about ten minutes away from me in Levittown ( Murphys Irish Pub ) that had it on draft a while back but they took it off because it "wasn't selling"...WELL....I WASN'T THERE TO MAKE THAT DECISION!@!@!!

Back in Hartford, we have a local beer called Hooker IPA. It's the worst swill imaginable, cheap too. Here it's considered a premium beer and the cost is somewhere around $22 for a 12.

The local liquor store, up the road, charges $11.99; but if I make the trek to Canal's (discount liquor store chain), the same 12-pack runs cheaper.

Do you have Canal's up your way? They're all over the place here, and I know the owners - they live in South Jersey.

60. I do, but they don't sell it here in Connnecticut, goddammit. I have to wait until a
visiting relative from PA hauls a coupla cases up for me.

(And Mrs R can't STAND beer, except she loves Yuengling.)

What a shame that Rolling Rock has become Bud Light in a green botle.

68. They don't sell it in CT?
Oddly enough, all the dozens of times I've gone to liquor stores up there, I've never noticed that.

73. Nope. I saw a case at the local liquor store and grabbed it, but the girl at the counter
told me "PUT THAT BACK!" It belonged to the owner who had it smuggled up for him.

74. Wow!
People up that way actually have our brew smuggled up to them?

I think I need to move up there, and be a Yuengling distributor. ;)

How you feelin', hon?

72. Blech
There's a case in our drink fridge which is over two years old that you can have. That stuff is nasty.

83. Definitely a couple here!
I spent a few months in Philly back in the earliest part of this decade and developed quite a fondness for that brave and tasty little brew. :9

Feel free to e-mail me a couple Yuenglings and a cheesesteak (wit and Wiz) from Tony Luke Jr's. :)
