If you get a chance to see this living legend, take it! You won't be disappointed!

5. Nice one h-l.
Johnny is one of my all time favorite guitarists. Saw him in San Francisco about ten years ago. He played for an hour and a half straight, wailin' the whole time. Absolute treasure he is.

6. Glad you were here to see it bluesbassman! I don't think Johnny ever got the respect he deserved
I've seen him twice myself, once in the early 80s and once in the 90s. He always puts on a great show! He was scheduled to play in Richmond and I wanted to go see him one more time myself. Unfortunately, Toad's Place, where he was scheduled to play has been closed down indefinitely. Now I don't know if I'll get the chance. :-(

7. Most true bluesmen don't.
Blues in general for that matter. The flip side though is that it's always being "rediscovered", so it will always be with us. :)

10. Saw Johnny play one night at the Armadillo
He came out and sat in a chair and started playing some old blues. Some jackass hollered out "Rock and roll"
Johnny looked at him and said "There'll be plenty of rock and roll later, but this is where it came from"
Audience jumped all over dumbass. Johnny played an acoustic set for over and hour, came back out with his band and played for another 2 hours.

When I saw him it was all electric. This tune is one of my favorites.

8. Never had the privilege of seeing Johnny , or Jimi , but at least got to see SRV.
have gone to blues bars in Chicago with Johnny's sometime producer Dick Shurman, however, which was a real treat ( Dick has been a close friend of my cousin for decades, which is how I knew him; have lost touch with both of them in recent years however). Thanks everyone for posting these videos. I'm hoping Johnny Winter will come back to Albuquerque sometime and that I'm not playing that night....I'll make sure not to miss him.

13. Saw Johnny one Sunday late 60's playing his National dobro at Lee Park in Dallas
under a tree sitting in the grass. Playing real good for free. He was well known at the time and there were a lot of great acts that played there Sunday free of charge but Johnny sitting there and wailing to himself and anyone who cared to listen really stands out.

14. He plays the hell out of a guitar. I saw him years ago, in the 80's
at a place call Brassy's in Cocoa Beach.

15. I've been in the legendary Red House on Haight street.
I went to a couple of parties there in the 90s. The top half is living space and the street level is shops.
