I'm on the younger side and if I had to narrow it down to one, I'd say Jeff Buckley.

My God what a talent he had.

My runner up would probably be Gladys Knight.

Yeah, I like sad soul songs. ;)

1. I've always like KD Lang. Hell I'll listen to anyone who can belt it out.

2. There are so many I could pick, but I I always think of Maria McKee.
So far as an example of a brilliant talent screwed over by incompetent management and lame marketing, and incredibly bad advice from brain dead agents that destroyed a great band, I will always think of Maria McKee.

3. I'm going to get poo-poo'd for this, but
Male: Mike Patton. Sinatra would be my first choice if not for Mikey.

Female: I love to hear Alanis sing.

5. I think that the one voice I've heard that simply made my jaw drop....
was Charlotte Church.

This little girl with the voice of an angel. It's not my kind of music, but.....WOW.

But I was a huge Julie Andrews fan once upon a time.

These folks could sing the phone book and I would listen.
I am sure I have forgotten some over the years.
Alanis Morisette and the lesbian singer whose name I have totally blanked on. Good grief getting old sucks.
