I'm laughing so hard here that tears are running down my face.
I'd forgotten how hysterically funny Soap (the TV series) was. Dayum, they just don't make 'em like that any more.

Did you know that the bagel is one of the most dangerous pieces of food there is? Find out why...

4. Me, either. I pay for two hundred channels just to watch
the Daily Show/Colbert and Countdown. And FSTV once in a while. The rest of the time, the thing is off or it's on the Sirius Grateful Dead channel playing music.

19. Gordon Jump (Arthur Carlson) was on both Soap and WKRP
On Soap he played Chief of Police Tinkler who dealt with Jessica with as much aplomb as Arthur Carlson did with the WKRP staff.

I blame the decline of TV on "Seinfled" and "Friends" - shows with no plot just lowered the writing standards too much. :hide:

7. You never saw this scene, or you never watched Soap?
I can't imagine having gone through life without watching Soap. It's impossible.

11. I've been seriously deprived many times!
In 1977, I was finishing up getting my LVN, and I watched literally NO television...maybe the news.

That was it.

Thanks for the link...

12. My favorite scene from Soap apparently is not on YouTube
Jody, Bert, Danny and Chuck (maybe some other male characters, too) are all in a bar trying to pick up each others' moods. Bert explains the meaning of life - it is classic Bert and I just love that scene. I wish I could find it on video.

17. Yes! Finally somebody else remembers that scene!
For years not one person I have described it to has remembered it.

What is sad is that we had almost all the episodes of Soap recorded on video tape - Beta video tape.

20. one of my fav's
is where Jessica is showing her sister why a woman should never "be on top". . . She crawls on top of the table looking down and shows how her face is all "jowley" because the skin hangs down and then leans back showing her face "taut" because the skin "sags" backward.

13. Richard Mulligan was pure comedic genius on that show.

I've yet to see him do anything that even remotely compares to his work on Soap.

Edit to add: Burt wakes up on the spaceship.
