The hip-hop drooping pants thing...
I heard recently that that is actually a prison statement that the person wearing it is someone's bitch and that others are not supposed to touch that person.

If true, this makes the white kids around here doing that around here and in the burbs even more funnier.

1. The way I heard it
it was prison code that the person wearing sagging pants was available to be someone's bitch.

Either way, I always chuckle when I see some kid sagging...

3. Saw a kid this weekend walking down the street,
he had to hold up his pants with one hand to keep them from dropping, and stepping gingerly (apparently you really can't walk normally in those pants). I want to tell the girl with him to walk faster just to see if he could keep up.

14. Poor kid would let go for a few step, then the slide would
begin and he'd have to grab--maybe he was new to the whole thing.

18. I once saw a kid's pants fall completely off
It was hilarious. For someone who obviously thought he looked cool....he sure didn't.

6. I thought the whole thing started in prison.
No shoelaces because they take them on intake; same with belts, hence the droopy pants.

12. How do the pants stay up when they are hanging off somebody's butt? I was walking behind
a kid who pants were down below his butt but they mysteriously stayed up. I wanted to ask how he did it (two way tape?) but was too shy.

13. I once saw a dude with his waistband barely above his knees.
I used to wear pretty baggy pants in high school, but that was just ridiculous to see.

on the backs of their knees.

16. Whenever I see a kid wearing pants that way, I have an urge to
sneak up behind him and yank them down, laughing maniacially the whole time.

However, I'm too nice to actually do something like that. :)

21. me, too. . .
It's such a totally ridiculous "fashion" - more so than bell bottoms/hiphuggers, zootsuits, halters, miniskirts so short they may as well be nonexistent, rhinestoned glasses, greased back hair, and cigarettes rolled up in a tshirt sleeve... i mean, come'on...... droopy drawers?? Looks like they got a load in their pants. . .

Edited on Mon Apr-20-09 05:47 PM by hobbit709
Yeah, we all wore clothes that upset our elders but like I told the one kid "I could outrun the cops in my clothes", knowing that he got busted when he tried to run and got about 8 steps before falling flat on face.
