Edited on Mon Apr-20-09 01:38 PM by fizzgig
i hate having to be dependent on someone else and it's such a blow to my self-esteem. i don't qualify for any type of assistance and i would have crashed and burned if i didn't have my dad and fiance. i am so thankful that i have the safety net i do, but i'm having a really hard time dealing with the fact that i have to rely on someone else to make sure my bills are covered.

1. I'm in the same situation
You're right; it's quite a smackdown of the ego.

But we do the best we can, y'know?

4. I thought that I was over being dependant
Both my husband and I work. They are pretty good jobs, we get paid quite well for the area that we live in. However having kids, one of them type 1 diabetic, two in diapers, 2 mortgages that we are paying on, two car payments, two atv payments, we are struggling! If it were not for living next door to my parents, we would be out on the streets.

Don't get me wrong, I have health insurance, and it is ok, however getting monthly prescriptions filled, an ER visit once or twice a year with my daughter, the bills rack up. My dad is a godsend for helping out with medical bills and my daughter's meds.

It sucks, however you have people that love you and care for your well being and are willing to get your back whenever it is needed. I would feel blessed. Do not take it as a blow to your self esteem, you are a good person that people are doing good things for.
