Someone Special I have Never met
A poem I wrote for someone tonight. Just tossing it out there.

Someone Special I have Never met

Sitting alone and sad
The hardships of this life paining my soul
Waiting. Watching.
For a reply from someone special I don't even know.

I see your smile
I read your words
And for the first time in a long time
I feel a hope within

Through the storms of my life I ride
Sometimes they drown out who I am
Then I see you
And I believe once more that the storms can end

This woman I talk to does not know it
But it is her words and smile
That help me wake up each day
And face what ever may come my way

A hope of something that may never be
Fueled by a dream of what may be
Thinking she deserves better
But hoping she sees the real me

The man within
Who would hold her in her storms
Would hold her hand and be her best friend
And together we would weather it all

A simple man, a complex life
Beautiful woman with caring words
No matter the outcome I know
That there are good people out there

Too far away for me to hold tonight
No way to hear her voice
I live in a dream of her
And it gives me strength

A dream of holding her
Sipping wine by a fire in the woods
Laughing, talking
And so I dream

Not of sex
Not of simply finding someone to give to me
But hoping that I can find someone to give to
Someone, well someone like you

I may never hold your hand
Nor look into your eyes
I may never know the sweetness of your lips
But I have tasted of your soul by the words of yours my eyes have seen.

And I am grateful
Someday, God willing, I will touch you
Laugh with you
And see in those eyes joy

And I will, for the first time in so long
Be at peace
And know that I am home
Then too shall I smile, and laugh

Because of you

You have so many sides to you, but you always come across as someone who cares, and cares with passion.

Thanks for sharing that, TSS.

3. I met her online, she works with people who have alzheimers
She is too far away for us to have a relationship perhaps, but then I had a good one that was a lot further (2264 miles to be exact) and it was probably one of the most wonderful things in my life (outside of my kids of course - and not to say anything bad about my X....long story)

She asked me to write her a poem as she has had a bad few weeks. Was tired and not on top of my game, but at least it was something and honest about how I feel.

Thank you for your kind words.

Want to go out sometime?

8. Yeah, I don't go out myself
Have baby girl on the weekends, and I would rather be here with her than anywhere else.

During the week, I want to get home and stay here in case she comes over (like Tonight).

I am in a bad position on things, and they are coming to a head. I am facing some really messed up choices soon on it all :(

Looks like all I got left is online. So if you can't go out, you can always PM me

Hope this reply finds you well at any rate. Thanks for putting a smile on my face. Each one I am given by people here on DU brightens my day a little more.

And today, the sun has been shining.

9. Shine on, sweetcakes!
You can always count on those rays of love to come your way around here whenever you need them.
I feel just as fortunate. :loveya:

(and PM or call any time :hi:)

...and speaking of Shine...

Where are you, Shine?

2. Was that really your relative
that was posting on here a few days ago?

I thought she said she was 8 and related to you. Could be wrong though. Don't know the screen name and I don't have a link.

4. That was my daughter
She really likes DU and posting here. She needs it really as she has been through a lot. I have her laptop right next to mine and watch her post.

She is going through things a little girl should never have to, and like daddy she enjoys writing about it and talking to others (although she needs to do so under supervision of course, the net can be an ugly place).

She has been bugging me for weeks to make an account and post, it brought her a lot of joy to post here after her cats died. I told her I had a lot of good friends here (well, I hope I do anyway - folks can disagree without hating each other if you ask me).

Seeing her mom so sick, missing her friend, having her worst nightmare come true in her mom and I not being together, moving a lot...she has been through too damned much. If she wants to just post here something silly about cats or whatever and it makes her feel better, than I am all for it.

yeah it worries me, seeing some things I have here, but I also know there are some wonderful folks here in the lounge who can, and have, be supportive of her.

She smiled so big this weekend posting it almost made me cry. Such a simple thing, but to her it was the world.

About your last line.
It's sad when children are forced to grow up sooner than they should.

I was just curious. People can pretend they're anybody on a message board, as like when Elizabeth Edwards started posting, you can never be sure if it's really them or not.

But good for her that she is interested in posting. I will be sure to say hello next time I see her on.

:hi:

6. She is already talking about this weekend
She stopped over for a few tonight.

Folks here made her feel a lot better about her cats dying. And as she has no friends here being able to talk about silly things online with others brings her a lot of joy.

Here is something she posted:
