Stitches... I'm in 'em.
Or rather, they're in me... First time for me. My school is constructing some new walkways near a road leading to the admin building. I was headed from that building to my next class when my left foot slipped in some gravel and dirt and gave out on me. My right knee landed right in some gravel, one of the rocks slicing clean through my sweat pants and through my skin. I was originally just going to shrug it off, thinking originally that it was nothing, but decided to inspect the damage. That made me limp back into the admin building and ask for a ride to the Student Health Center.

They cleaned my knee up and remarked that I'd likely need stitches on one of the two cuts. I called my mother and she suggested that I drive the 30 miles back home to head to our family hospital to actually get the stitches in. The medics at school finished cleaning the wound and put a big bandage on it. They then kindly gave me a ride back to my car near the gymnasium.

Back home, the damage was surveyed and cleaned again, and I now have three stitches in my body...

So, what have you all needed stitches for?

1. Two hernia surgeries. And a horrible accident.
One of the surgeries was when I was about two weeks old. The other was when I was seven. Extreme lower abdomen. One cool scar vertical and to the right side of my business. The other horizontal and just above.

And now, the horrible accident: When I was I think 2 or 3 years old, I liked to run around in circles as fast as I could. One day I tried it in my bedroom next to an unfinished wood chair. My bedroom with the slick floor. And me only wearing chonis and a pair of socks. I slipped and cut my mouth open from the point where the upper and lower lip come together at the side. From there it ripped all the way back to where my jaw is connected to my skull. Oh, the blood. But happily enough, no scar.

2. Luckily i haven't had them too many times...
Once when I was 8 or 9 I was messing around with one those velvet ropes they have at the banks using it as a jump rope while waiting in line with my mom. Stepped on the rope and the hook came off and cut open my forehead.

The other time I've needed them is when I had my Gall Bladder removed.

Hope you recover quickly :hi:

3. On second thought, why am I complaining?
Never had to have a major surgery that I can remember.

And I'm young, I'm pretty sure I'll do just fine on the recovery part.

4. Oh mercy... knees, scalp, hand (a few times)
And the all time winner:
My nostril was bitten off by a neighbor's dog when I was, I think, 6 or 7. Putting it back on was a couple of operations and more than a few of the stitchey thingies..

Life has a way of multiplying the little buggers..
