"New Moon" movie coming out this year--POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Is the girl from TWILIGHT supposed to be falling in love with a WEREWOLF now?

Is so, what kind of allegory about these times are these movies? That people are so creepy you might as well love vampires and werewolves?

1. She's not in love with him, they're best friends.
It's harmless fluff for 12 year old girls.

3. au contraire
midlo-obasan...

it's poorly written harmless fluff for little girls.

that said, it is by far one of the worst renditions of vampires and other supernatural thingies i've had the misfortune of reading. the woman cannot write worth a damn.

it's a chastity morality tale dressed up as emo-vampire-girlie lit.

i've seen better fan-fic than this steaming pile of week old whale shit.

the only thing scarier than the sheer awfulness of these books are the fans. admittedly i am not the target market, but damn, some of those fans scare me, and i go to conventions for gaming, comics, and japanese animation.

4. It's horrible stuff. I read it along with my little one.
And you're right about the fan fic.

The movie however was reasonably decent and well furnished with the hot vampire goodness that is Peter Facinelli.

5. robert pattinson
Edited on Fri Apr-24-09 10:37 AM by keroro gunsou
gave an interview when he got the role of edward and was asked how it would compare to cedric diggory for harry potter and the goblet of fire. he said this role has one significant advantage over the other, in twilight, his character is already dead, as opposed to getting killed at the end.

personally, i think goblet of fire was a pretty weak film compared to the book. pattinson got short changed in the film, there was a lot of character development for cedric in the book, making it a bigger shock when he's killed.

on edit:

holy crap, midlo-obasan agrees with me on something. sweet... or it's the boxed wine talking

still it's good to know she's a lady of good taste when it comes to books.

6. LOL. Even the 12you said it was bad writing.
But, she did read all four books, so at least she was reading.

at least she read all four, i made it 1/3 of the way through the first book before i realized it was crap and that i've written better buffy-verse fan-fiction

has the mini-mid-ling read the harry potter book yet or LotR?

i've got some books she might like if she's into high adventure and slightly romantic entanglements...

god i read too much

10. She didn't particularly like LotR, but read all of the Harry Potters.
as did BoyM.

I think that's how she knew that Stephanie Meyer couldn't write. LOL.

11. exactly.
without darkness, how would one know light.

similarly, without shitty writers, how would we know good ones :D

twilight is a mormon morality tale about chastity and purity and love... it is NOT a vampire book.

i'd give edward about.... 2 minutes with spike (from the buffy-verse) in a steel cage. two minutes because spike will spend the first minute telling edward what a ponce he is before killing him. angel would just laugh at him.

12. The first movie was beautifully photographed.
Pretty pictures of pretty people. My 13 yr old squealed with the rest of the little girls, seemingly on cue. A good time was had by all. (Even me...lol.)

And there's my praise for Twilight.
