What brought you happiness today?
Edited on Fri Apr-24-09 09:14 PM by Breeze54
I was in a bad mood today. Lots of physical issue's to deal with and I just wanted to go in the store, get what I wanted and get out.... fast! You must know the drill but as I approached the door, this guy, about 22 years old, with multiple earrings and tattoo's sped up his walk to the store's door and held the door open for me.... and when I thanked him for holding the door open, he said. "You're Welcome." How cool is that?! :)

6. That's nice!
I regret the times that my Dad bought us tickets to the Red Sox games and I was 13 and 'just didn't want to be there" and now... I wish I could be there so many times. I didn't know then, what I know now. :(

4. I took my kid to the park and we flew kites.
The wind was a bit too gusty for that, so after a bit we got back in the car to go buy him a skateboard helmet, and he sang along with a bunch of old hardcore. My cell phone rang and it was somebody scheduling me for a job interview.

I'm in a pretty darned good mood after all of that.

7. Great question!
We had an inservice day today. I hate inservice days and consider most of them a huge waste of time. At the end of the day, I was looking for a place to "hide out" until dismissal, and happened upon a group of teachers sitting on those huge balance balls in the weight room. We sat around and laughed like a bunch of kids. It was the best part of the entire day.

:)

I had an end-of-semester conference with her, and on Fridays, the PreK program here is out of school. So, the twins were in the office with her, being their silly selves. The boy and i got caught up in a face-making contest for a few minutes that had his sister and their mom cracking up.

44. A phone call from the GF.
Her sister is in town for a week. They haven't had time alone together in 14 years. They have had meals, family get-togethers, 10 minute sit-downs.

GF called to say she appreciates that I am giving them space to talk and interact.

Apparently I was a big hit on Wednesday night. Do you think some of the conversation might be about me?

Anyway, as a gentleman LOL I had understood this family imperative as soon as I had heard she was coming to visit. Still, it's SOOOO nice to have gotten that call.

57. Brilliant soccer day in my household. (Warning: Kid Bragging)
My five year old scored 3 goals.

My eight year old scored 3 goals.

My twelve year old who plays keeper made 6 fantastic saves and his team won 5-2.

My sister and I filled water balloons and let our kids have at it before they went skinny dipping in our pool. It's a good four weeks before it's warm enough for pool season for me, but there is no accounting for 5-8 year old bodies I guess.

My husband is out playing soccer right now leaving me in peace to watch a tape delay of Aston Villa's match with Bolton. The only thing that didn't make it a perfect soccer day was their draw with Bolton instead of a win. The club really could have used those two extra points.

I've also stolen a bite of what my husband is making for dinner and it is going to be awesome!

Oh, and the eight year old just left for a sleepover with his cousin.

So besides being fairly disgusted with the Board of Trustees that employees me, I'd say it has been an utterly fabulous day.
