I thought that I would buy a really nice address book and have all of her (our) friends put their address in the book before we give it to her?

7. I thought everbody used iPods or blackberries or Bluetooths (teeth?) now.
Or something trendy and electronic.
People till actually write down name and addresses on paper?
How quaint.
;-)

9. Excellent idea! I would add only that you should make sure it's a really, really, really nice one.
Because more than likely, since she's a professional, she already has one, so this one should be much better than what she might have gotten on her own.

I would also suggest one that can add and delete pages - like a 3-ring or a 7-ring fancy one - so she can expand it as she goes through life.

Next to your addresses when you write them, include something fun and wonderful about her, as well.

Also, a good partner to this gift would be a equally fancy guest book. Since she's moving to a new home, it's a good time to begin a guest book. I bought one for myself years ago, and every now and again I go back, and remember the rather odd cavalcade of people who have come through my doors from, I think, every continent (except Antarctica, of course); some who were friends of roommates, some people I worked with, some friends and family.

It's a wonderful record to have.
