He seems to spend most of his time strutting around the stage eating up the applause. A friend of mine sat next to him during a cross continental flight years ago and said that she had never met anyone who was so impressed with themselves. She was very relieved when they finally landed!

My theory about Irish step dancing is that long ago it was recognized that the Irish were incapable of co-ordinating arm and leg movement simultaneously, so they just pretty much jettisoned the arm movement.

One thing I can't stand about Michael Flatley is that uses a fake Irish accent. I was born and raised in the same neighborhood as Mr. Flatley on the South Side of Chicago and while he makes it out to be a "ghetto" it was far from it. It was, at one time, one of the wealthiest parishes in the Archdiocese of Chicago.

As well, his father had a very successful plumbing and sewer business going at the time. I think his brother runs it now. Michael likes to play the "I came from nothing" card but nothing could be further from the truth.
