Mrs. Robb and I aren't due for another month, but between the Watchtower folks, magazine subscription salesmen and roof-repair-scam guys I'm answering the door three times a day. :banghead:

1. hell no!
You both are going to need the rest before the your baby arrives (congrats, by the way!) - you deserve the peace and quiet. Go put that sign up! Or put one up that says "9 mos. pregnant wife trying to rest". Most people would be respectful of that, I should think.

2. Nah. The baby needs the sleep in or out of utero.
A vicious dog warning sign might be more effective.

3. It's never unethical to tell useless door-bangers to feck off - and you don't
even have to be polite about it. I'd use a 'No soliciting/no preaching' sign on a permanent basis, but the baby sign works too. Or, you could just stretch a strip of crime scene tape across the porch, with a biohazard symbol on the door...

6. Ethics?
You are asking about the ethics of averting annoying disturbances by religion mongers and scam artists? What they are doing is what is unethical.

7. No. My grandson is sleeping right now, so that counts. There IS a baby sleeping!
Is it relevant that the baby is not at your house? :P

8. The sign you need is: "No Soliciting".
You don't need to let a bunch of door-to-door salespeople know anything about you. They'd only try to sell you diapers or formula or something.
