I don't think I want to know how much they paid the marketing wizards to come up with that one. (People probably don't generally know, but apart from the not-usually-used-in-a-sales-pitch appallingly hot summers, Columbia was also burned down by General Sherman. Kinda reminiscent of the WFL franchise the Chicago Fire; also not a signal success.)

As a rule, I think if you have to include the state name in your slogan, you've already lost the battle, but what do I know?

There was a thread the other day asking what is your city's slogan (or nickname, I forget). I missed it, but then, I'm not sure this one counts, because I seriously doubt that anyone will ever use it. It replaces "We're on fire" and "A Capital Place To Be," and no, I'm not making these up either.
