3. There were only two of us in my group of nerdy friends who went to prom.
And we went together.

In the land of the nerds, the guy who plays guitar gets to date the one cute girl. :P

6. Honey, you're homeschooled. Dancing around in your living room isn't prom,
it's just being goofy at home. But you can wear a poofy taffeta dress while you do it if you really want.

;)

seriously, jeans are formal wear to me. pj's are my casual wear

last year i was invited to prom by one of my friends but i was out of town and likely would have passed up anyway. i've never dreamed of going to prom like most gals, so missing isn't a big deal.

and those dresses are HIDEOUS!

17. I went to my date's (mine was the same night) and it was hideously expensive and deeply lame
The only reason we had a good time was that we discovered that a very long, flowy skirt (I had the only non-horrible dress there- thank Vishnu for custom clothing) concealed a variety of decidedly forbidden activity.

Which is why prom organizers should never, ever hire an office building. Lots of dark corners, small little-used rooms and other opportunities for really unacceptable behavior.

35. It wasn't exactly tolerated.
But if you hire a building that's about 75% dark, private corners and expect a pack of horny teenagers to stay in the small, well lit section you have roped off for them to get overpriced pictures and dance to horrible music in, you're not going to have a lot of luck.

There was also a real lack of supervision. And I think since my date didn't have a "bad kid" reputation and I was from another school and they didn't know me, they were too busy tracking down the usual suspects (who were all in the courtyard lighting one up) to think to find us and figure out what we were up to and what states it was illegal in at the time.

I've lived about 80% of my life in Texas and Mississippi, though, but still no trace of any accent, let alone a southern one.

14. Prom is overrated.
At least that was my experience. We were watched like hawks so we couldn't run off after the dance to get drunk and have some fun, instead we were required to go home or go to the local youth activities center. :eyes:

I just couldn't imagine wearing all that finery that has to be kept clean and not torn or ripped or stained for like 2 hours. I'd rather get so fitshaced I wake up nekkid clutching the grass so I won't fall off the Earth. :toast: :smoke:
