17. I was wondering if they qualified...
since I had the impression the female leads were all guests and not part of the band.

10. KMFDM, Crass, Chumbawamba, Pigface
KMFDM - Looking For Strange
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9yasd70O4I

Crass - Reality Asylum (warning...this could be highly offensive to anyone who is christian/catholic, or even just religious in general. I think it's one of the most powerful things ever recorded. Just be warned, it's pulls NO punches.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_HOYk9ED9Q

Chumbawamba - Invasion (I know everyone thinks they were a one hit wonder, but their early stuff from the 80's is some of the best agit-prop ever)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWOzMHT79Pg

Pigface - Nutopia

11. A second for the Arcade Fire recommendation above.
I wish Bishop Allen used a female lead more often. Those songs tend to work really well, like True or False: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yx_9zAcya3k

22. Trampled Underfoot
www.tufkc.com This is a family band from Kansas City with two brothers and a sister. Two vocalists and the lady is a great bass player. Of course, if you believe you don't like the great American art form known as "Da Blues", you may not appreciate just how good these people are.
