Has anyone used the Tunnel from Hatteras to Ocracoke?

I'm going down to the Outer Banks in a few weeks and thought I'd give it a try.

Seems like it would a lot faster than the ferry.

The views might not be as good though.

What do you think?

4. Someone's pulling your leg. There is no tunnel: Ocracoke is only accessible by ferry.

Local shops sell a joke bumper sticker that says "Hatteras-Ocracoke Tunnel Permit".
