Something really weird happened to me today - laugh if you want, just makes me wonder

My best friend Scott died when he was 27. He was in a car accident. This was well over 12 years ago.

I still think about him, have written a few poems about him. But have, in as long as I can remember since he died, hadn't had a dream about him.

Last night I slept rather crappy. Wake up, fall back asleep. I do that a lot when my daughter is here I suppose - wake up, make sure she is here. Just a dad thing.

I had a dream he and I were in Japan (we used to play D&D, he was a Ninja in the game - but this dreamed revolved around being in Japan and then losing track of him, buying some smokes, and other weird dream things). He was wearing the same suit he wore in his casket, but in my dream I did not think about that. Woke up for a minute, then fell asleep, and he popped up again.

And then my x called me about 20 minutes ago(she lives across the street, in the house scott and I used to hang out in with our friend Gordon who lived there at the time).

Right before she hung up she said 'OH, I forgot to tell you. Last night a Guy named Chris was here. He was talking about a brother he had, named Scott, who had died. I knew who it was because you had talked about it a lot before, it was just weird'.

I don't dream about Scott. And the one night I do is when his brother (and I knew his brother as well) is right across the street from me. I assumed when she said her bf had friends coming over it was Terry or the like (we all grew up with the same people).

It just makes me wonder if there is something, I don't even know what, that knew he was going to be there, or...I don't know. Just seems too strange a coincidence to me.

I kept trying to find him in the dream after we got separated, he needed me for something and I was frustrated because it was a big city we were in and I could not find him and could not leave without him.

Just weird.

I think some dreams are not wholly an internal phenomenon. . .

I have had a few "not quite dream dreams in my life. . maybe 3 or 4, that I am sure were not just the processing of random waking experiences.
