1. The fluffy things look like dandelions.

I'm not sure. Either way, you have some beautiful flowers there. :D

4. but aim for your neighbor's yard, not your own.
Just joking. You'd be spreading dandelion seeds if you blew the fluffy thing.

5. Yes! They are considered weeds here.
We don't want them in our yard, but they can be a pleasant flower to have.

7. Weeds are a funny thing. They are flowers, but they grow wild around
here, as do buttercups and daffodils. They are still flowers, but since they grow wild and freely, it puts them in the weed category.

8. One person's flowers are another person's weeds
I don't mind dandelions myself, but everybody else in my tenants association thinks they're a nuisance. So we spray for them instead of cultivate them.

18. It's the same with Goldenrod.
In this country we think of it as a weed, but in England it's grown in cottage gardens. (And, contrary to popular opinion, it is not the flower that makes everyone go "achoo"). That's Ragweed.

11. The leaves are edible!
When they are young, you can add them to salad. They are bitter, but not bad with a warm bacon-vinegar dressing.

Some old-timers used to make dandelion wine, but I don't know if they used only the leaves.

12. My husband picked some dandelion leaves for me a long time ago
when I was pregnant and read that they are a good source of iron. I cooked them like spinach. He reassured me that he chose some unlikely to have been noticed by passing (male) dogs ;).

19. When I was a kid, I'd sit and eat clover.
And I'm (relatively) sane.

16. Did you ever make pop guns out of them?
We used to get them before the flowers opened. We would break them off at ground level, hold one hand in the middle, wrap the stem around itself and loop it over. Then we could hold it and shoot the heads off at each other. That was always fun.

9. Very pretty!
(Actually the pretty blue flowers around the dandelions are weeds, too.) But they all composed a beautiful photo! :)
