A friend brought some back from West Virginia. Man do those things smell nasty!

3. No, but I've always wanted to try them.
I hear they taste like garlic flavored onions and that your body will exude the odor for a day or so after you eat them.
Good luck.
I'd try sauteing them.

In central Appalachia, ramps are most commonly fried with potatoes in bacon grease or scrambled with eggs and served with bacon, pinto beans, and cornbread. Ramps, however, are quite adaptable to almost any food style and can also be used in soups, puddings, ketchup, guacamole and other foods, in place of onions and garlic.

Treat them as strong "green onions"!

Great in Salads, and served on steaks, with peppers.

I put them on sandwiches and burgers, in lue of onions, but be sparing!
