What's the first thing a new Marine wants after graduating basic training? *pics*
Drinks? Women? Not this one...he wanted a tattoo. Actually he has wanted a tattoo since he was sixteen. I refused to sign off on it. He begged and argued, I refused. Then when he turned 18 he wanted one, just 1 month before he entered boot camp. I talked him out of it. He finished basics and came home on leave. I had a business trip to Kansas City last week so I took him with me. We made an appointment for him at a good shop and I bought him his tattoo as a graduation (from high school and boot camp) present.

In retrospect, he is glad he waited. He said he would have not chosen this tattoo until now, and that some of the drill instructors were hard on guys with tattoos.

And I, after all of the discussion and my refusals, got my first tat too..

7. It's shocking how many kids he went to high school with (minors)
had tats. I knew he was going to get one, thought it best to be sure he went to a good shop.

5. An appropriate tat for a new Marine.
As I understand, it's just as permanent too. That's a good thing.

I like yours too. Thanks to your son for serving.

That's big-time support there from the OP. I admire it intensely.

And may the new Marine prove unbreakable.

I am sure he will do well in the Crotch - I mean the Corps - and they will do well by him.
