4. Ok, thanks
I didn't know that.

I listened to that version of Feeling Good and I can definitely hear Adam singing it. I really don't like this kind of music so it's not my favorite week for AI.

3. Finally a week with the music I enjoy listening to.
I really hope this is the last week for Matt.

Any of the other 4 is good enough to win but it sure looks like Adam is a shoe in.

5. I was disappointed
Not my type of music. Maybe next week Madonna songs will be the theme.

I have a bad feeling about Matt's performance. It seems like he's in the most danger of going home and I don't think he's good enough to pull off My Funny Valentine.

I know Jamie Fox is a singer but why is he the mentor for Rat Pack week? I guess it could be worse...they had Quentin Tarantino last week.

6. Matt needs to go in my opinion.
It's funny how when they do the recap of the night all the performances fall way short of great in comparison to Adam's.

7. I loved the songs, but they didn't exactly scream "Rat Pack" to me.
Edited on Tue Apr-28-09 09:13 PM by femmocrat
They were more like (what I call) "standards."

I liked all the performances, but thought Adam was over the top. Allison is really talented, IMO.

8. I liked Adam and Danny tonight
I have no doubt that Adam takes the whole thing, but I think that's been known since the auditions.

9. Adam lost me tonight.
I thought his performance was garish and creepy. Up until tonight I thought he was the front runner.

OTOH, Danny was pure class. No tricks, just outstanding vocals and a sincere rendering of a very sexy song.

I hope Danny wins.

18. Agree 100%. Adam's songs are starting to sound
repetitive with the same predictable screams, etc... I can't picture myself paying money for an album to hear that over and over, but I would definitely buy a Gokey album. I LOVE his smoky vocals & he's more versatile. I think Adam's range is impressive & I liked him early on, but I think I'm tired of him, like a one-hit-wonder sound.

19. that noise he makes between phrases is annoying
...when he's inhaling. I wonder if he was stunned to be in the bottom two tonight.

20. Agree re Danny!
He makes music I would buy. :applause:

Adam's screaming style is tiresome. Allison is my sentimental fave -- she's really got it together, for someone so young. And Kris? So darn cute!

10. Actually I thought they all did pretty well...
...but each was basically their usual self:

Kris Allen, the "handsome crooner": Dean Martin
Matt Giraud, Mr. Bojangles: Sammy Davis, Jr.
Adam Lambert, the actor: Peter Lawford
Danny Gokey: Frank Sinatra
That leaves Alison Iraheta to be the "mascot of the Rat Pack" as Joey Bishop was called.

11. SPOILERS BELOW
No way do I think Adam was really in the bottom 3. Idol has to create some drama.

12. The creeps at
Vote for the Worst put out the call to vote for Matt. I don't know how many people they actually have voting so I don't know if it's a factor or not but Adam being in the bottom three is BS.

14. (REMEMBER, Sub-thread has SPOILERS)
See - Adam safe. I swear, this is the most contrived and manipulated season yet. :hi:

15. I agree
Adam is obviously the front runner so maybe the producers wanted to mix things up. I would've loved to see Danny in the "bottom 2" though.

16. Thanks what I think
At the very least, waiting until the end to announce Adam as safe was for drama.

Next week, I will vote multiple times for Adam and Allison, just in case. Maybe Danny's turn in the bottom two is next week.

17. Next week
I plan to vote for Adam and Allison too. I'm actually more worried about Allison. She has been a strong performer almost every week but has been in the bottom 3 several times. I like her because I see her making music I would actually buy.

I like Kris too so I'm hoping Danny goes home, although I think it's unlikely he will be voted out next week.
