What chain restaurants have the best salads?
I've been stopping by Culvers weekly for a year or two now and between their dropping my faves and skimping on ingredients lately (no doubt it's an economy deal but jeebus... ) I'm going to take my business elsewhere.

Burger king has a decent grilled chicken salad. Quizno's used to have a couple salads that were OK but I haven't been there in a while. Locally (Chicago) Portillo's has a good chicken chopped salad.

Anyone have a favorite?

20. My fave is Ruby Tuesday's
Lots of crunchy stuff. I love the egg noodles piled atop a salad.

Then I negate the healthy salad opener with the mini burgers. :)

4. Salad bar at Hoss's - $5.99 and loaded
The salad bar part is awesome on its own, but they also have a bread bar, taco bar, soups, fresh fruit, deserts, and soft ice cream with toppings - all for $5.99. Can't beat it.

The weird part, is that I'm vegetarian and think a steak house has the best salad!

5. I know a lot of people trash Olive Garden, but I think their salads
are delicous! Must be the dressing and fresh cheese

6. chain restaurants simply do not have good salads
The best salads are made at home.

However, Park Pantry, a restaurant in Long Beach, CA, makes a very nice cobb salad.

7. Friday's is toxic, but I like one of their salads
Breaded chicken breast cut into strips, dried cranberries, candied pecans (I think it was pecans), feta, balsamic vinaigrette.

I refuse to go to Friday's anymore, so now I just make it at home. With goat cheese--even better. :9

8. Togo's has a Cobb Salad that is as good or better than many I've had in full-blown restaurants
Togo's salads blow most fast-food place salads out of the water, in my opinion.

:grr:

But, alas, I have no great alternative to suggest. Some of the grocery stores around here have salad bars, and we hit those sometimes when we're in the mood for a quick lunch ...

23. If you're going to include supermarkets ...
... I'd say Whole Foods. Their salad bar is great. Pricey, but great.

11. Panera, hands down
I think they have a real winning menu, for a chain. So much variety!

Lots of delicious salads, lots of soups, lots of sandwiches, and the "pick two" mix and match option! And generous portions.

I heartily recommend it.

14. Panera is one of my favorites
I don't get salad but my mom loves the Fuji Apple salad. I usually get the pick 2 with turkey on country bread and broccoli cheddar soup.

13. Oregon Pear Salad ..... from Smokey Bones.
I never actually ate there, but saw their salad advertised. Did a search and found the recipe. Delish!

I also like Olive Garden's salad, but haven't eaten there in years since they served me moldy bread. True!

18. Seriously, the salad bar at Golden Corral..IF it's freshly stocked.
Of course it depends on the location and time; but I go and get a huuuuuuuuge to go box of salad and they always have Romaine and good fresh veggies if I get there at the right time. They also have turkey you can put on the salad. It's not all bad choices there.

Just MHO. I used to work at something similar called Western Steer back in HS; and so I know what it looks like in the prep room. I still ate there, too.
