It has to be either one, as they are driving down I-10 by my house on their way back home to Austin.

Which place has better food.

It has been awhile since I have ate at either place.

1. As I recall, Denny's wasn't bad at all.
But then, I was in college and really drunk most of the times I was there.

3. Denny's has a decent breakfast.
Eating at Denny's was always the cool place to eat in the middle of the night.

Of course it was the only place open way back then.

5. We also had this fresh hell of misery known as the Waffle House.
They fried the water in lard.

8. We have them here.
On the bus trip to Washington for the anti-war protest we must have passed 500 of them.

It got to be a game, who can spot the Waffle House first.

15. I threw up the only time I ate at one.
For a while I thought that maybe I'd caught some kind of bug, but on getting home and talking to friends, that seems to the reaction whenever a California girl eats there. I think you have to be accustomed to it to eat that much grease in one sitting.

Needless to say, that was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay pre-vegan. I was 17 or something.

6. What I am looking for is some decent pancakes.
The last I-HOP I ate at was in Washington, DC, and we walked to the place from the hotel.

It was freezing, we walked very fast.

It was fun.

13. Praise Jesus
I don't know why there was ever any debate about this.

The answer was obvious the whole time.

17. I haven't been to a Denny's since maybe 2000, and not to an IHOP
since about 1980.

I'd go for the IHOP. The had great waffles 29 years ago.

20. I-Hop
Denny's is the worst. All of the Denny's around here shut down a few years ago. There's just no way they could compete with a Jersey diner.

21. That's like asking whether you want to die by asphyxiation or a long fall.
Neither one is all that pleasant. Not much of a choice really.

22. I'd go for I-Hop
Haven't had much experience with Denny's, but in my college days there was an I-Hop across the street from campus that was always packed around the time the bars closed. I remember it being quite edible. Of course pretty much every time I went there it was the wee hours of the morning I was far from sober...
