2. Perhaps the best (yes, those are frogs at the beginning)
This is one of the most haunting and beautiful songs ever to be performed...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cnMqd7t76E

And shit, when you posted "Lamb-'Gabriel'" I thought you meant "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway". Beautiful maybe, but I wouldn't call it "haunting".

I love Alison Krauss, especially that particular song. And I love Clannad too, but I can think of a lot of other Irish trad songs that would fit the "haunting and beautiful" description. Or am I the only one that thinks bagpipe music qualifies...?

The Mellon Collie album by the smashing pumpkins has some great, beautiful songs on it too. Look up the instrumental in the beginning, porcelena of the vast oceans, beautiful and by starlight. Electroshock Blues by the eels has some great songs too, especially 'PS you rock my world'.

Some others are

The Fray - how to save a life
Dixie Chicks - traveling soldier
Martina McBride - concrete angel
Terry Jacks - seasons in the sun

128. This version of Albinoni's Adagio
is by a band called Renaissance.
Purists don't like modern "interpretations" of classical
pieces but these versions help ignorant peasants like
myself become aware of composers and pieces that I
have never heard of.
