Help please, I'm sure this is a stupid question
but where the hell did the volume/speaker icon go at the bottom right hand corner of my screen go? I went to watch a youtube video and went to unmute it and it was GONE! How do I get it back?

1. Do this.
Hit your start button, go to Control Panel, click sounds and audio devices. Right there you can unmute and click the box that says "place volume icon in task bar", hit apply. Done.

Okay, I was lookin' in the wrong place when I went to the control panel. Thank you so much! I felt like an idiot posting this, but I was freakin' stumped... LOL!

I found the volume/mute buttons on the laptop. I'll just use those.

I'm assuming you're on Windows - it sounds like you are. Go to the control panel, and open "Sounds and Audio Devices", and you should be able to at least change the volume from there.
