I just went to the Apple to download the latest version of Safari.
Before downloading it I got the message about how it contains an application and how the safety of it cannot be verified so I cancelled it. Is that normal? I would think I would not get that message about their own stuff.
2. I think that's a standard warning that comes up...
...before you download any executable file in Safari.
It helps stop scumbags from infecting you with malware disguised as a .jpg or music file.
You could probably download it using "Software Update" under the Apple menu if you're afraid that you're not really linking to the real Apple web site.
