How many CD audio drives/players do you have in household?
Edited on Fri Mar-12-04 05:58 PM by darkstar
Surprised me when I added ours (wife and I) up. Consumer overload guilt. 4 in two main computers. 1 in laptop. Old multi disc w/ stereo. DVD player. Diskman by bed. Boombox in kitchen. One in each car.

Eleven. I ain't proud of it, just kind startled me when I stopped to add 'em up. You may be, too.

edit: spelling

2. 3 (depending on how you count them)
I have a CD-ROM in my laptop that plays CD's.

I have a portable CD player that I take on walks.

I have a stereo that plays CDs with 5 slots. It's programmable to play one right after the other.

3. We have..........
6 dvd players which also play CDs (two came in computers & one is a portable and the others are for home use). In addition, four more strictly audio cd players. The three household dvd players are matched up to a 61" tv, 32" tv, & 27" tv. Three other tvs in the house but their small time compared to the big three.....

All in a 1200 sq ft house.....and no, I don't have any guilt about it. I work hard for my $$ & spend it how I choose.

4. OK
5 computers, one in each except for one with two = 6
5 stereos/boomboxes = 5
at least 4 portables = 4
two DVD players that also do CDs = 2
changer in car trunk = 1

Comes to 18, give or take. Hard to believe.

These are the ones that work. There are a few more broken ones.

6. Do they have to be in use?
Because I have a stack of about 20 from one of my old jobs and various old computers. Add that to the dozen or so I actually use and that's way too many.

9. Six, I think
My husband has one. My computer has a CD drive. My son's computer has both a CD and a CD-R. Then there's my other son's CD-changer, which he left here when he went off to college but will reclaim some day. And there's an old boombox kicking around.

Of course, once we get both kids fully launched into the world, we'll be down to three, which seems almost reasonable.

10. Either 24 or 18, depending on how you count it.
Edited on Fri Mar-12-04 06:29 PM by geniph
Let's see - 5 in the changer, 2 in my audio CD recorder, 1 in the DVD player, 4 in the computers, 1 boombox, 1 portable, 3 in the cars, and 1 upstairs in the attic, currently unused. That's not counting the 6 the boys have - they each have one in their stereo, a portable, and one in their car. So the grand total - 24. Or, if the multi-tray devices each count as one, 18.

On edit - I forgot, the laserdisc player will also play most audio CDs. So that makes either 25 or 19.

12. Four
One in the living room (the 6-disc changer from my stereo), two in my computer, and a boombox in my bedroom.

If you want to count my car stereo, then it's five.
