Wanna bet?

The Taking Of Pelham 123.

You'd think the dimwits in charge of remakes would learn something at some point. But I guess that'd be WAY beyond their pay grade.

I for one plan to miss this one. I think I'd rather re-watch the remake of The Andromeda Strain.... :puke: :puke: :puke:

4. I think the previews look decent.
I probably won't see it in the theater.

5. I'm not much of a movie-goer, or really much of a movie-watcher,
but I would like to see the original, because I love suspense!

But why bother remaking it? The original only came out in 1974. It's not *that* old (at least to me). What sort of updates are going to make it a better movie?

7. Maybe there will be some intelligent and uplifting drama based on a comic book

coming to the theaters this summer you can watch instead. Or another film version of a '60s TV sitcom.

8. I don't have a problem with comic books
since I've been collecting them for many years. Sitcoms are another beast- they're one reason I stopped watching TV, again many years ago.

9. Saw the original way back when, this one will blow. Go rent the first instead.
With Robert Shaw and Walter Matthau. Good action suspense movie with a sardonic sense of humor. A nice ending too.

13. I was a "test subject" for the preview at the mall a couple months ago...
Edited on Sat Jun-06-09 10:24 AM by gmoney
Girlfriend was in a clothes store, so to kill time, I took part. There was a little stand in the atrium where they'd ask some demographic questions, show you the preview, then ask a bunch of stupid questions, I guess designed to determine if they'd properly "sold" the movie with the preview. I gave it a big fat "I might watch it on cable" sort of equivalent.

14. I have the original right now from Netflix.........

Denzel and Travolta can't hold a candle to Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072251/

Tony Scott is the remake king. Right now he has remakes of the A-Team, Warriors and possibly another "Alien" offing in the works.
