I can understand not wanting acutal nudity, though that should not be an issue as long as I am of age and responsible with and for the images. Paintings, however, that is just censorship. I know I have some boobs in my art, duh, but the odd part is they deleted the really abstract nude paintings and not the more realistic ones. :wtf:

And highly offensive to me. These assholes would have wiped out most of the masterpieces of European art if they had had the chance! Isn't there somewhere safe we can put them until all of this idiocy blows over? Aren't there some secure undisclosed locations going unused lately?

5. I am highly offended, especially since some have sold or been gifted

and I am not sure if I have pics of those paintings in any current computer. Damn it! I don't know if there is another place I can store them. My newest ones are in my iphoto, but those older ones are not. I guess it is time for me to make a web page.....the universe has spoke. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know, I need serious advice.....scratch that, am desperate for help!

you upload images to blogger, and they're automatically available on Picasa.com (private or public, your choice) and they don't censor, really. They MIGHT decide that you should have a "gatekeeper" page alerting people to 18+ images, but won't delete your stuff.

I believe any of the paintins photobucket deleted for content are on either my moms, or mine hard drive. The few that aren't I still have the work. Still want to start that website though. This was the kick in the ass I needed.

I don't know about Photobucket's policies, but I believe you can post more explicit material on flickr if it's labeled "mature" or something similar.

Glad to hear that you likely have backups, though, and I'm annoyed that they deleted your stuff outright. Did they at least tell you in advance? I'd think that they could have rendered your albums non-viewable while keeping the images online for you to remove.

I've had a couple of photobucket pictures taken down right away when I've posted them on DU, including a picture of a naked chimpanzee. And no, the chimpanzee was not doing anything sexual.

Say what? I'm supposed to blur out the "naughty" bits? Any kid at a zoo can see a naked chimpanzee...
