Library return-on-investment calculator
I know this is Denver-specific, but I thought the idea was cool.

My result was $11.06 in benefits for every tax dollar I spend on the library.

2. All my benefits accrue from repeated uses of the reference desk phone staff.

5. Your library's way behind the times
If I have a question I can log onto a librarian chat site and have a reference librarian answer questions via IM

3. Besides my tax investment, I generally pay 10 to 15 dollars a month in late fees...
and that's quite all right with me. It is still an incredible bargain.

4. Cool -- they love us at our local library
We get about 15-30 books a month, and we gave them a Winter Holidays prsenet of nice European cookies (trust me -- do this -- your dvd lending time will increase by a week, and you will NEVER have to wait in line)

We get our money's worth, for sure!

7. Says I get $0 value, but it's totally personal - what's my return because of people reading,
people having a place to go to check their email, people having a place to take their children, people having a place to go hear lectures and story-tellers and see movies?

That's where I get almost all my value. I rarely use the library, but many others do.
