And while I think N.O.W. arguably overreacted to Letterman, I can't begin to understand the rabidly angry reactions to their reaction. Letterman isn't going anywhere, no one's calling for him to be fired, so why the knee-jerk hostility? :shrug:

Palin will take advantage of anything to get where she wants. She's an unabashed opportunist and publicity hunter.

Letterman performed as entertainers in his genre do. They range in offensiveness, but almost all of them cross boundaries and offend.

I don't watch him and don't enjoy that sort of entertainment much, but I think some of the outrage is misplaced. Palin dotes on that sort of free publicity, and plainly chummed the waters with her family to lure the sharks in.

Ratings, people. Blame it on the public that feeds the machine.
